Dear Frank,
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you seen this site:
http://www.wunderground.com/US/MO/Hermann.html?bannertypeclick=htmlSticker
It is a network of 'Regular Folk' who have set up their own electronic weather stations at home.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a list of available weather stations in our area!!! It includes NEXRAD Radar and Forecasts plus lots of other cool weather stuff.
You can even download a desktop gadget (widget) for your computer so you are always up to date to outside condition.
Unfortunately, no one in Hermann proper has a station on the network but someone has one in Big Spring and there is another one in Stony Hill. A lot closer than than Jeff City. Just type in your Zip and if finds the closest stations.
Now that I typed all this info, you probably are going to tell me, Yea!!! That's what you've been using for years!!! lol
Any way, Love your weekend forecasts and witty humor!!! Keep up the good work.
PR2011
PS I haven't listen to Dave M.(ch 2) in years and I have never gotten wet for lack of an umbrella. lol
PR2011,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the helpful tips! I'm new at this here weather reporting gig, so I don't know all the tricks of the trade. The way I see it though, all a fellar has to do is look out side the windar .... If it looks cold and cloudy and if there's snow on the ground, wear a heavy coat, a hat and some mittens. If it's cloudy and rainy, wear a rain repellant jacket and carry a "Frank said it would!" umbrella.
But I suppose folks these days don't look out their windars. They prefer to check the weather on TV or on their computer!
Thanks again for the tip!
Frank
