Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation-but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. There is a battle that we face every day – the fight against our sinful nature. But notice how Paul gives us a battle plan for victory against the forces that pull against us: fulfill your obligation to focus on the work of the Spirit of God in your life. This is more than just the summoning of will power to do better. If you focus more on where the Spirit of God wants to lead you than the misdeeds of the body, you will find the internal struggles much easier to deal with.
