Friday Morning County Jail Meeting Closed To The Public

This morning's meeting at the Gasconade County Courthouse, a meeting which was called by Associate Circuit Judge John B. Berkemeyer to discuss Sheriff Randy Esphorst's proposed county jail project, was closed to the public.  At least there was no public meeting notice posted on the bulletin boards in the courthouse hallways.  Believing that I would probably not be welcome at the meeting, I did not go knocking on any doors where the meeting was likely being held.  Hopefully somewhere along the line, the public (i.e. the taxpayers who would eventually have to foot the bill for a new county jail) will be told what was discussed during this closed meeting.

  1. Unbelievable, Looks like Gasconade county residents are in for 4 more years of the S.O.S.(Same Old Story). Official hiding behind closed doors.

I bet come Wednesday, we will get some item in Print,(News Stands), about how everything is under control and well behaved, productive, and when the study is done then the Commissioner's will decide for us what is best, no need for the public to see the study, that was out of line to begin with.

Or perhaps the Judge laid down the law and told them to cease and desist and get what ever $$$ they can back into the County coffers.

Then again we May NEVER KNOW!!!

That's OK too, it just gives us bloggers something to sink our teeth into.
