The Streets And Sidewalks Of Hermann - Day Three Of A Five Day Engineering Survey

Published by Jimmy Oldsun, NDRIRSRWRAFTC & Editor

This investigative report is continued from our Monday, 5/10 and Tuesday, 5/11 reports.  We actually conducted this third day of surveying on Wednesday, 5/12, but we must have gotten pre-occupied with something else and didn't publish the results on the same day.  So presented here today is what we found on our third day of walking the streets and sidewalks of Hermann.

After the third day, we were forced to suspend our street and sidewalk survey due to heavy rain, some flooding of streets during the past couple weeks and to be honest some much needed R&R.   We are resuming our survey and more reports will follow.

Yes, I know that we could have hidden this report from the eyes of FREE Subscribers and reserved the report for the eyes of our PREMIUM Subscribers only. We could have done that to "bait" our FREE Subscribers into upgrading their memberships. But we're just not sneaky enough and under-handed enough to pull something like that. Therefore, all five (5) reports (or possibly more) in this series of reports will be available to everyone, even our lowly cheapskate FREE Subscribers who have not yet upgraded their memberships.

On my third day of walking (Wednesday, 5/12), I found the following street and sidewalk conditions:

  1. 1st Street heading west from Gutenberg Street to Schiller Street - Sidewalks on both sides of street in excellent conditon.  Asphaltic street surface in fair condition. Street surface well sealed.
  2. 1st Street heading west from Schiller Street to Market Street - Sidewalks on both sides of street in good condition.  Narrow sidewalk on south side in one spot.  South sidewalks cracked and busted in a few spots but surface has remained relatively even. Asphaltic street surface is patched, cracked and alligatored in a few spots, but still in relatively good condition
  3. 1st Street walking west from Market Street to Mozart Street - Sidewalk exists only on south side of street and it is not in good condition.  Cracked in a few spots.  Asphaltic street surface is patched and alligatored.
  4. Mozart Street walking south from 1st Street to 2nd Street - No sidewalks.  Asphaltic street surface is patched and alligatored.
  5. Mozart Street walking south from 2nd Street to 3rd Street - No sidewalks. Asphaltic street surface is patched and alligatored.
  6. Mozart Street walking south from 3rd Street to 4th Street - No sidewalks. Asphaltic street surface is patched and alligatored.
More street and sidewalk survey results to follow.
