This place (or a place like this) would work great in Hermann!  German food, German beers, German wines, German candies and confectioneries, German gifts, etc.  AND a stage for German oom-pah and accordion bands .....

Mr. Dunderbak's is Daytona Beach's best German restaurant since 1992 and family owned and operated since 1975.

    Did you eat there?

    Welcome Home!!!

  2. PR2011,

We ate there last Monday. My daughter had told me about this place, so I was eager to go there. We had Jager Schnitzel, red cabbage, German potato salad, German potato pancakes (with applesauce and sour cream) and a German beer recommended by our little blonde-headed, blue-eyed fraulein waitress. I bought my daughter a couple German white wines for her condo (one of which I assisted her in consuming before I left). This place is great! I will go there again on my next trip. Hermann needs one of these (or at least something modeled after it).

  3. I goofed Dick,

    Here is their new website:

    http://www.dunderbaks.com/about.html

I guess they moved from Daytona Beach, to Tampa this last last year, there is a youtube video showing the last day at the mall in Daytona Beach.(YouTube search: Mr. Dunderbak's)

I noticed on their new website site, they also have a small marketplace that includes cheese and meats traditionally from Europe. I can see how they have stayed in business since 1975...a great idea of a business!!!

Thanks for sharing...maybe someone locally with the means i.e. capital, can bring that sorta idea here!!!
