Wishing you and your families a safe and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!  If you are traveling, take your time, buckle up drive defensively, and arrive safely!  Oh heck, you don't for me to lecture you!  You're all big boys and big girls!

I've given our staff some time off to be with friends and family.  We won't be posting anything until Monday, 11/29.  I encourage everyone to get off the internet and spend lots of time with friends and family.

Everyone has headed off for the Thanksgiving Holiday, and they've left me here to post the "Song Of The Day" before I dig into my big turkey dinner.  Since it's my choice, I am choosing Arlo Guthrie's famous song about his Thanksgiving Dinner at "Alice's Restaurant".  This is the longest song ever written ..... 18 minutes and 20 seconds!  If you've heard it before but haven't heard it in a long while, I know you are going to enjoy it once again.  And if you've never heard it before, I think you're going to enjoy it the very first time you hear it and you're going to thank me for playing it for you on this Thanksgiving Day in the Year of Our Lord 2010.

In any case, pour yourself another glass of cup of whatever you're drinking and settle back for a real Thanksgiving treat .....

Percy Faith (April 7, 1908 – February 9, 1976) Canadian-born band-leader, orchestrator and composer, was known for his lush arrangements of pop standards. If we want to know the will of God for our lives here is one clue: Give thanks in all circumstances. One might say, “How could I give thanks? You don’t know my circumstances. I have absolutely no reason to give thanks for what happened to me.” But in not giving thanks we relegate ourselves to the tyranny of a broken and fallen world. The Bible speaks of a fallen creation that needs rescue. Giving thanks reminds us and aligns us with God’s rescue plan for our lives.

Paul is writing this due to an assault on the believers in Colossa. Many different heretical teachings were being thrust upon this new church that confused the identity of the Christians there. Paul is exhorting them to return to their roots. Remember the joy of knowing Christ because He first knew you. Remember the supernatural work that Christ did in your heart. As the reformer Martin Luther stated: “Christ plus nothing equals everything.”
