How do you view God? As someone who is waiting for you to mess up? According to the apostle Paul that view is incorrect. When we realized what God did for us through Jesus Christ, any barriers between the Father and His children are gone! An agreement of peace has been reached for all time. When we stand on this grace we have a freedom that goes beyond our performance or abilities. Now we can live as a people who already have peace with God. This is the faith needed when we fall short, because Jesus Christ has given us access today. Make sure to use it!

Darn!  Darn!  Darn!  I'm missing out once again!  "The Jerry Lairmore News Network" (aka CNL) has posted a "hidden" report about the "Dream Hunters" event on the Jerry Lairmore farm near Owensville.  And because I prefer to spend my money on ice-cold FIJI artesian bottled water rather than a CNL paid subscription, I just can't read the report.  Oh well, I suppose there are many other news reports I can read elsewhere.  I'm off to check out Poor Richard 2011 over at www.HermannMoNews.blogspot.com .....

The Missouri Tigers ended their regular season with a record of 10-2.  It's always great to end the regular season with a win over the Kansas Jayhawks!  The Tigers accomplished that goal yesterday with a 35-7 drubbing of the Jayhawks.  The Mizzou Fight Song is one of my favorite songs.  Marching Mizzou played it yesterday after every Missouri score.  Let's listen to it one more time .....

“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.” – Malachi 4:5-6

This is the last Scripture of the Old Testament. This was followed by 400 years of silence. God was setting the stage for the coming of John the Baptist and ultimately the coming of Jesus. This season is the beginning of the Advent, which is Latin for “coming”. This is a season marked by waiting for the promise of God. God wants to reunite families, He wants to restore our hearts, and He wants to bring us back to Himself. May God restore our hearts as we remember the story of Jesus and wait upon the Lord for the promises that He has made to us in Christ.

Hemann Hearsay Closed 'Til Monday, 11/29

We're closed down until Monday, 11/29.  I know that disappoints all of our readers to no end!  But please don't despair!  We are redirecting you to http://www.hermannmonews.blogspot.com/ for news of local interest and stories you won't find anywhere else.  Our good friend, Poor Richard 2011, is an investigative blogger who can't be beat!  He will be posting reports all weekend as fast as the news itself breaks!

People have been asking where our staff members have gone for the weekend.  Here's the scoop:

• Jimmy Oldsun drove to Kansas City where he plans to cheer for the Missouri Tigers when they play those pesky Kansas Jayhawks at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday.  Kickoff:  11:30 a.m.
• Lois Lame rode her Harley down to Branson where she is meeting up with her boyfriend from Fayettevlle, Arkansas.  She ain't saying anything beyond that!
• Clark Kant took Amtrak down to St. Louis for a reunion with old friends from the days he spent in the mental institution last year.  Clark says his friends aren't crazy, just a bit "quirky".
• Frank Furter drove up to Columbia to discuss the possibility of a modification to his divorce decree with his ex-wife, Francine Furter.  Poor ol' Frank just can't afford the alimony on the salary he earns here at Hermann Hearsay!
• As for me, I'm staying in Hermann and will be watching a lot of football this weekend ...... Auburn vs. Alabama and Colorado vs. Nebraska today, Missouri vs. Kansas on Saturday.  Then on Sunday, I'll be watching the Rams and hard telling what else!
