During the course of just the past two days, another local online "news" service has threatened their readers and subscribers NOT to:

  3. You don't have to worry about transferring your subscriber account privileges to friends and relatives since our basic subscriber account package is FREE!  Everyone can be a Hermann Hearsay subsriber FREE OF CHARGE!  Heck, we even have a computer literate cat ('Tator_Tot') who is a loyal subscriber!

The Beatles - Shea Stadium (1965)

Date: 8/9/2010

The Beatles' U.S. tour opened on August 15, 1965 with a concert scheduled in New York City at Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team. This was the first time in the history of music that a sports stadium was used for a rock concert ! Seen by 55,600 fans, it created a new world record for a pop concert in terms of attendance and gross revenue. The Beatles' share of the $304,000 box-office takings was also a record .... $160,000.

It's "Beatles Monday", and I hope you will enjoy this YouTube video clip of the Beatles' first concert in America .....

Remembering The Sabbath Day .....

Published by Lois Lame, SSALRCYTMVDQJCP & Assistant Editor

Date:  8/8/2010

For some time now, Hermann Hearsay has followed the policy of giving our employees the day off on Sundays.  Like everyone who works hard during the week, they need a full day of rest and a full day of leisure time to be with family and friends.  We also support giving them Sundays off so that they may observe the sabbath day according to their own personal religious faith and beliefs.

Recognizing that, at least for Christians, Sunday is the sabbath day, we have decide to devote a posting each Sunday to Bible verses.  We hope that these postings will be a blessing to all of our readers.

The Hermann Hearsay staff will choose a Bible verse to post each Sunday.  For our first Bible verse posting, we thought it appropriate to post "The Ten Commandments" as found in the Old Testament of The Holy Bible.

The Ten Commandments

As found in The Book of Deuteronomy
Chapter 5, Verses 1-33 (KJV)

1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
4 The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
22 These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.
26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.
28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
30 Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

NEWS FLASH from CNL!

Published by Dick Schaefer, Unpaid, Part-time Contributing Writer and Amateur Investigative

Date:  8/7/2010

BREAKER!  BREAKER!  THIS JUST IN!

CNL, the propaganda "news" agency for Jerry Lairmore and Ron Jost,  is reporting ....... (brace yourself for this SHOCKING NEWS FLASH) ........ that "County Commission majority shoots down Penning's ideas for Road Department meetings"!

And this is "news"?  Hello?  Earth to Jeff Noedel?  The County Commission "majority" has been shooting down ALL of Penning's ideas since he was first elected Northern District Associate Commission TWO YEARS AGO!

It's because of shallow "news" reporting like this that I am drinking FIJI artesian water instead of buying a subscription to CNL!  Ha ha ha!  FIJI artesian water is refreshing and satisfying!  Especially good with Macallan 12 single-malt scotch!

By the way, I can't read the entire article on this subject since I'm not a subscriber, but I'm wondering if Jeff Noedel is hammering Lairmore and Jost about Missouri Sunshine Law violations with respect to the "road department meetings" just like he hammered the GCCS Board of Directors about alleged sunshine law violations?  Perhaps a CNL subscriber can let me know.

The GCCS is a private 501(3)c corporation which accepts and spends no public/taxpayer funds.  They are free to have open meetings or closed meetings.  No law, however, compels that they must have open meetings.  Nevertheless, they are very transparent and welcome members and non-members to their meetings.  You can come to any of their meetings!  They will welcome you with open arms!  They want you to know what their objectives are and they'd like for you to join their organization.  Nevertheless, Jeff Noedel inexplicably raised holy hell about the GCCS violating the sunshine laws several months ago!

On the otherhand, the County Commissioners represent the public, all the taxpayers in Gasconade County.  They authorize the expenditure of public/taxpayer funds.  They are therefore subject to the Missouri Sunshine Laws.  So-called "road department meetings" are no exception.  Because official business of the County Commission is presumed to be conducted anytime two or more Commissioners are gathered together, the Commissioners must notify the public of these "road department meetings" and open them to the public.  The principle is "transparency in government".  I wonder what Jeff Noedel has to say about the county's "road department meetings"?

Boning Up On The Missouri Sunshine Laws

There's been a lot of people citing the Missouri Sunshine Laws here in Gasconade County.  I thought I'd spend some time this weekend "boning up" on the various provisions of Missouri law.  Perhaps you'd like to "bone up" as well.  If so, you can go to the Missouri Attorney General's website.  Pour yourself a glass of Macallan single-malt scotch and light up a Cohiba cigar.  Then click on the following link and knock yourself out reading the law:

Doncha be callin' me a racist, bro!

Published by Dick Schaefer, Unpaid, Part-time Contributing Writer and Amateur Investigative Reporter

Date:  8/7/2010

A few postings back, a particularly bold and brave commenter named "Anonymous" had the audacity (and poor judgment) to call me a RACIST.  Can you imagine that?!  Little ol' loveable fuzzball me?!

Sometimes when people don't like what you're saying and they don't have any factual rationale to refute what you're saying, they go mad with rage and they resort to personal attacks.  Calling someone a RACIST is a typical intimidation tactic used by bullies and it is often the last refuge for those whose minds are completely exhausted.

No one wants to be called a RACIST.  No one wants to think of themself as bigoted.  We all want to think of ourselves as fair-minded.  And I am no different!

Maybe "Anonymous" called me a RACIST because I posted a photo of the notorious gangsta rapper, 'Snoop Dogg'.  ('Snoop Dogg' just happens to be BLACK.)  I can't find anything else in my posting which might have elicited such an accusation by "Anonymous".  That's why I am now (hereinabove) posting a photo of 'Eminem', a notorious WHITE gangsta rapper.

So ya see, we are an equal opportunity critic of gangsta rappers here at Hermann Hearsay.  We don't like any of 'em ...... BLACK or WHITE!

So "Anonymous", doncha be callin' me a RACIST ..... bro!
