"Public officials must not be allowed to use public funds for the purpose of purchasing affinity display ads which have no purpose other than to increase their own name recognition among the public for political purposes."  ~ A. E. Newman, Candidate for Southern District Associate Commissioner of Gasconade County

  1. Mr. Newman you have my vote, your the best man for the job! I'd like to stress that everyone vote for the best candidates and not goose step to the polls and vote just because of party. The new county audit is an embarrassment to gasconade county! Lisa Letzow and Joe Gross should not be allowed to handle our money! VOTE FOR SHARON MEYER for COUNTY CLERK!! This is a paid political ad paid by Snowman Trucking LLC and not connected to any political party.. Cletus Snow Canaan,Mo.

  2. I think you're right! But, lets take your thought out all the way. NO Ads should be allowed!! After all, when say, MFA puts an advertisement in the High School booster book.... it means they have to "tag that fee" to whatever they sell ME, to pay for it! OR The local Gas station, lumber yard, Grocery store, etc etc. It all gets passed along to the Taxpayer in the end, does it not? So, no more of any kind of Booster Support, or Public Support deals ought to be allowed. If programs fail due to lack of funds, so be it. That's what you are fighting for, right Dick? To stop the guy on the street from paying for stuff he shouldn't ought to have to??? Good show! So, lets fight to put an end to all of it, now!! And if anyone asks why, we'll all tell them, it was Dick Schaefers idea!! Thanks Dick, for showing us all the light!!

  3. Dear Madman,

You should've directed you rant toward me, A. E. Newman. As usual, you twist and belittle my words. Reasonable people of the county, of which you are certainly not one, understand and agree with what I am saying. Changes in county leadership will soon be occurring, albeit not soon enough!

  4. Some people don't understand that there are many of us commenting on Hermannhearsay not just Dick. And yes I've lived in the Canaan area many years. That being said I hope you don't place ads in the Owensville paper or CNL they like to cover things up! They both had access to the county budget and wouldn't cover it. Why because it made their buddies look bad. Sorry to disappoint you the audit is being hand delivered to hundreds to read. Cletus
