I'm Back In The Saddle Again

Published by Clark Kant, Editor In Chief

I returned to Hermann late last night after spending a week in St. Louis. What an interesting week! I'll write about my experience in a future article.

For right now, I just want to say thanks for all the flowers and cards you sent me. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes! I also want to thank Jimmy, Lois and Frank for doing an absolute bang-up job during my absence!

I'm back at work today. And I have to say it's great to be ...... "back in the saddle again"!

  1. Noticed on your competitor's website that Alex has been promoted to "Creative Director". An ambigious title if there ever was one! I think it means that he might be better at begging people to advertise on their crappy website. Saw where Jeff the Boss will now cover government - city and county - although can't imagine what there is to cover with city government - and continue his ridiculous ambulance/police cruiser/fire truck chasing. Who is your "Creative Director" and how do you plan to compete with CNL's new aggressive strategy to take market share away from you?

  5. Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for reading Hermann Hearsay, and thanks for taking the time to offer a comment.

We are concerned about all of the news media competition here in Hermann. We have one real newspaper, The Hermann Advertiser-Courier, and three online daily news services. The competition is very stiff!

In order to continue offering FREE subscriptions and FREE advertising, we have to keep our overhead expenses to a bare minimum. We can promote people willy-nilly, we can't lease out plush office space, we can't buy webcams and we can't burn up a lot of gas chasing police cars, ambulances andfire trucks.

Instead we are attempting to carve out our own unique niche in the Hermann and Berger media markets.

Good competition just makes us strive to improve. We welcome good competition!

As soon as the voting was over he went to playing grab ass with the south county wheeler dealer's! Hell he even screwed the Muenster dude over. Willie G. Hog Holler Mo. P.S. Luckyrider ain't no biker, he's just a turd shoveler!

  7. Dear Willie G.,

    Thanks for your well wishes!

I did not modify or censor your comment since it did not contain profane language.

As a journalist, I have to maintain a certain amount of objectivity. So all I will say about the courthouse issue is this:

"Our county government leaders, our leaders in private business and our community leaders are not leading. Everyone seems to be waiting around to see what the other fellow is going to do. A couple of our county commissioners are waiting for someone else to "show them the plan and the money". They are delaying and obstructing. This is what they seem to do best. The GCCS has all but given up. They haven't even held a meeting since July of 2009."

That's what I will say. I believe my views are shared by many citizens of Gasconade County!
