It's a pathetically sad and sorry day for Gasconade County! The voters have decided to maintain the disfunctional status quo and reject PROGRESS. Too many "low information" voters who haven't really bothered to find out what is going on has once again resulted in less than optimum "good ol' boy (and girl) government"! Blind, uninformed "goose-stepping" will not move this county forward and the consequences are dangerous and detrimental to the county!

Were there any "voting irregularities" in the election for Gasconade County Presiding Commissioner?
Published by Dick Schaefer, Award-winning, Unpaid, Part-time Contributing Writer and Amateur Investigative Reporter
Date: 8/12/2010
The citizens of Gasconade County now await the final official count on the race for Presiding Commissioner. Comes now word late this afternoon from Circuit Clerk Joyce Gabathuler that Presiding Commissioner Ron Jost has requested a change of judge in the legal matter of the recount hearing. We understand that the Miskel people are confident they will prevail no matter what judge hears their case. We understand the Jost people are nervous.
Rumors have filtered out into the community. Speculation abounds! The people of Gasconade County want to know:

- Were some votes uncounted?
- Were the absentee ballots counted correctly?
- Were absentee ballots offered to the county's military personel serving in far-away deployments?
- Were the ballot scanning machines properly calibrated?
- Who is really their Presiding Commissioner Elect?

Hermann Hearsay Projects Win By Larry Miskel
Published by Dick Schaefer, Unpaid, Part-time Contributing Writer and Amateur Investigative Reporter
Based upon the results of exit polling conducted at key voting locations throughout the county, Hermann Hearsay is now able to project Larry Miskel as the winner in the Republican primary for Presiding Commissioner. Other news media will report the actual voting results later tonight and tomorrow, but Hermann Hearsay is the first to project Miskel as the winner in this hotly contested county-wide race.
UPDATE: The final count is in. The County Clerk's office is indicating a narrow win by Ron Jost. As it stands at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, 8/4, Jost has won a third term by the narrowest of margins .... barely 16 votes. Had only 8 of Jost's vote gone the other way, we would have had a tie. Our exit polling data based upon a small sampling at several key voting locations predict a narrow win by Miskel. Our statisticians are going back to check our sampling responses and our calculations. The actual final results do not "square" with our exit polling data.
