'Just received a call on my cellphone from 'Daffy Duck' who lives in Owensville. 'Daffy' was excited, agitated and very HOT under the collar, and here is what he said ......
"Suffernin' succotash!!!
I just can't believe we now have one of our aldermen who wants to work on so-called 'county unity'! Can't this nattering naybob of negativity see that there is more than enough work to keep himself busy in Owensville?!
As far as I know, there are still many, many Owensville streets that need to be patched or re-surfaced! As far as I know, Owensville electric rates are still too high for residents and businesses and something needs to be done about it! As far as I know, Owensville people still need more, high-paying jobs and Owensville downtown businesses are still being boarded up! Surely that oughta be enough to keep all the aldermen in Owensville busy for a few years!
Suffernin' succotash!!!"

Dad-blamed Flea-Bitten Skunks and Varmints!

Yosemite Sam left a message on our answering machine late Saturday night. (I think Yosemite Sam had been drinkin' a few shots of Yellostone whiskey.) Yosemite Sam said .....
"Shame on you, you dad-burned commissioner skunks and media varmints who are always stirrin' things up! You shameless fellars just feed off one another! It's very transparent what you're doin'! We ain't a bunch of dad-blamed fools out here, and you can't pull the wool over our eyes! You commissioner boys are so pathetically shameless that you get your friends and relatives to come into public meetings to make stump speeches callin' for this and callin' for that whilst the ambulance-chasin' media boys salivate over the sensational photos, video tapes and one-sided stories they can write up for their "newspapers" and online "news" sites! Plumb pathetic! Just plumb pathetic! Why don't you commissioner boys get to work doin' the legitimate business of the county?! And why don't you media boys start reportin' on the important stories?! Dad-blamed flea-bitten skunks and varmints!"

It's "Willie Nelson Sunday" once again! Today's song is an old standard written by Hoagland Howard "Hoagy" Carmichael in 1927 (lyrics written in 1929). "Stardust" is one of the most-recorded songs of all time. I love the way Willie performs it!

Bible Verse Of The Day - Sunday, 9/5/2010

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.” – Genesis 22:1-2
To offer a child in human sacrifice may seem incredibly barbaric, but God was speaking to Abraham in the language of his day. Child sacrifice was common in Abraham’s time. What was unusual was that God stopped the sacrifice! God was re-educating Abraham about the nature of the true God. The journey of Abraham and Isaac was a shadowing of another time that God would reveal His true nature to mankind. At the cross God didn’t stop the sacrifice but offered His own Son, whom He loves, for us. This sacrifice was given once and for all so that God could speak to us in the languages of our day and re-educate us about who He is and how we can know Him.
