We want to add value to the discussion and debate of public issues. We are not interested in regurgitating news reports. The local news, weather and sports are already very thoroughly covered by our colleagues at The Hermann Advertiser-Courier, Hermann NEWS and New Haven NEWS ONLINE.
Our mission is to differentiate our site by providing an alternative to traditional local news reporting. We present news analysis, opinions and editorial comments. We hope to add a bit of levity to otherwise serious and seriously reported news stories. We seek to provide "food for thought" and stimulate lively discussion. Todate we have written about local issues only. In the future we will expand our coverage to state, national and global issues. You might want to think of us this way .... We are trying to emulate TV programs like "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" on a local level and in an online daily news analysis format.
Our objective here at Hermann Hearsay is not to "make journalism history". Rather, our objective is to "make money"! Truman T. Tiger, our owner, likes money. He is an unabashed, unapologetic capitalist. He thinks we can make money IF we focus on the wants and needs of our readers and offer our product to the community at a great value.
