Hermann Hearsay Projects Win By Larry Miskel

Based upon the results of exit polling conducted at key voting locations throughout the county, Hermann Hearsay is now able to project Larry Miskel as the winner in the Republican primary for Presiding Commissioner.  Other news media will report the actual voting results later tonight and tomorrow, but Hermann Hearsay is the first to project Miskel as the winner in this hotly contested county-wide race.

UPDATE:  The final count is in.  The County Clerk's office is indicating a narrow win by Ron Jost.  As it stands at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, 8/4, Jost has won a third term by the narrowest of margins .... barely 16 votes.  Had only 8 of Jost's vote gone the other way, we would have had a tie.  Our exit polling data based upon a small sampling at several key voting locations predict a narrow win by Miskel.  Our statisticians are going back to check our sampling responses and our calculations.  The actual final results do not "square" with our exit polling data.

Anna Wiegenstein of HermannNEWS.com published her July video interview of Northern District Associate Commissioner Matt 'Snoop Dogg' Penning on Monday, 8/2.  Congrats to Anna and HermannNEWS.com for scoring this exclusive interview.  We understand that Anna is also trying to schedule video interviews with Presiding Commissioner Ron Jost and Southern District Associate Commissioner Jerry Lairmore. 

For those who may not yet know her, Anna is a bright young journalist, a graduate of The University of Iowa, who has been doing great work for HermannNEWS.com for nearly a year already.  I have always found Anna's news reports to be fair, balanced and well-written.

Hey, 'Gangsta Hanksta', Don't Tread On My "House Shoes"!

Well ..... (to borrow one of his favorite intros) political pundit, provocateur and preeminent pontificator, Hank Vonk, is at it again!  Featured writer of 'Forum Fables' over at "Cheap News LIVE", Vonk has used his poisoned pen (keyboard) to malign and slander Matt Penning, John Penning, Mike Jacquin and me in his latest acrimonious article entitled "Last Commission Meeting & Is Matt Penning a Gangsta Rapper???"

In the topsy-turvy, black-is-white-and-white-is-black, upside-down world of 'The Hanksta', if you push back on other members of the county commission to run the business of Gasconade County in the best interests of the taxpayers, you are labeled a 'Gangsta Rapper'.  Citizens of the county who attend County Commission Meetings demanding transparent and responsible government are similarly maligned.  On the otherhand, 'The Hanksta' aligns himself with a "news" organization dedicated to carrying water for 'Jerry' and 'Ron'.
