The City of Owensville is governed by a Mayor as well as other elected officials known as the Board of Aldermen. The Aldermen are made up of four officials, representing two wards that serve two-year terms. One of the four aldermen, John Kamler, recently offered his services to work toward "county unity" after having been prompted to do so by local "news" publisher Jeff Noedel. Apparently the affairs of the City of Owensville are so well managed and so well in control that Mr. Kamler has the time to assume this additional responsibility! Maybe the City of Hermann can learn from the City of Owensville how it is they can afford to "lend" one of their alderman out to the county to participate in the "county unity effort" which Mr. Noedel is promoting?

Will the county have to pay for Kamler's time spent on "unity"?

My Oh MY! Does someone wanting to get along bother you?? Seems we could do with a little of that!
ReplyDeleteEllie Mae,
ReplyDeleteWhat bothers me is an Owensville alderman interjecting himself into a county issue which will ultimately be investigated and disposed of by the Missouri Ethics Commission. Let the established processes work. These processes are there for a reason. Besides, I dare say that John Kamler has plenty enough to deal with in the City of Owensville already.
Everyone is calling for "unity". IF "unity" means for Matt Penning to keep his mouth shut and just go along with everything that Jerry Lairmore and Ron Jost want to do, then I say NO! I am more interested in seeing our commissioners do the right thing and the legal thing on behalf of citizens of the county. IF they have to fight it out like the U.S. Congress fights it out everyday, then so be it!
IF "unity" means agreeing with Lairmore and Jost on everything then, count me out!
