"Tell Jerry Lairmore and Max Aubuchon to pay their own legal bills.  They should not have taken the pay raise.  The Missouri Supreme Court ruled that the pay raises they (and others) received were unconstitutional.  The county's insurer will not reimburse their legal fees for this very reason.  And county taxpayers should not have to pay their legal bills either.  Judge Eckelcamp ruled that all parties to the so-called 'salary overpayment' lawsuit should pay their own attorney fees and legal expenses.  The truth of the matter is that, Messrs. Lairmore and Aubuchon should have been forced to return the unconstitutional pay raises they received, but they got 'wiggled off the hook' on a legal technicality, namely the statute of limitations."  ~ A Gasconade County Taxpayer, 12/2/2010

Pay their own legal Bills... lets see, you work at McDonalds... and sell someone a Burger. The Burger, turns out to be bad, and makes the Customer sick.Who get sued, you? or McDonalds, as you were working for them, and they provided the burger etc. McDonalds takes the hit! Same thing. Funny how so many willfully ignore the real world!
If the Insurer won't pay, then the County should sue the person who caused the loss for reimbursement! Simple really, once again!
Judge Eckelkamp? the one who was overruled twice? And ordered to reverse her incorrect ruling? The one who consequently got fired by the taxpayers for screwing this whole mess up? That is your shining example? You lose!
Wiggled off the hook? Says who? 115 counties in Missouri, this deal effected all of them, show us anyone else, who got convicted of anything here. You are full of it, and spreading lies and inuendo's to boot! The suit was wrong, was not legal to file in the first place! you seem to want to willfully ignore that fact as well! The suit itself was illegal! Had no legs to stand on the minute it was filed, so it was a case of either gross incompetence, or willful intent to create pain and suffering and cost to the County, because, if the county was sued illegally, why would Insurance pay? Penning had to know this so it was he who screwed the County taxpayers, on purpose. What other reason is there? Now the weasel won't pay, and threatens more legal action. And he knows, the county will have to pay for that as well! So he's screwing us again, on purpose! How much pain and ripping off of the folks around here are we going to take, before we decide to recall or replace this guy? No Lairmore or Aubuchon or Jost here now, any more actions, and costs are all because of Penning!! No one else.Remember that! From today forward, if we get more bills, it's all Pennings actions! He's solely to blame! So, tell Penning to pay the bills he caused us!
