Courthouse Cat Burglar Strikes Again!

The "Courthouse Cat Burglar" (CCB) has apparently struck again!  When Gasconade County courthouse employees arrived at work this Monday morning, they found new storage shelves in the room which had formerly been used as the Sheriff's Evidence Room.  The room had been vacated by the Sheriff's Department several months ago.

Hermann Hearsay could find no reliable first-hand witnesses.  One guy riding a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle reported that he had heard the high-pitch whine of a rotary wood saw and had seen a mysterious cloud of sawdust and some odd-looking, whirling dirvish of a man.  But he didn't get a good I. D. on the fellow.  No one we talked to seemed to know for sure who had "broken in" and built the storage shelves. 

Speculation is now running rampant!  Some accuse the "Courthouse Cat Burglar".  The CCB was suspected of the 2009 Labor Day Weekend "break-in", but Matt Penning's Citizen Courthouse Volunteers (CCV) were eventually accused of that "break-in" when no hard evidence linking the CCB to the "break-in" could be found.

I contacted Northern District Commissioner Penning to ask if he had been working any of his untrustworthy Citizen Courthouse Volunteers at the courthouse this weekend.  Commissioner Penning told me that he just doesn't bother to work the CCVs at the courthouse anymore, not after the disrespectful way they were treated by certain county officials (read County Collector Schlottach and Southern District Commissioner Lairmore) last September.
