If the Bible had a movie rating, many parts would be NC-17. The Song of Solomon is one of those passages. To understand the graphic symbolism that is throughout this ode to love would make the reader blush. But this is powerful, because it tells us that God has something to say about every area of life. The passion that occurs between a husband and his wife is not a taboo subject in the Scriptures, and it should not be for God’s people either. The Song of Songs challenges us to invite God into every area of our lives.
