This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. – John 2:11
In the miracle of the wedding feast of Cana, Jesus turns water into wine. John reminds us that this has great significance as the first miracle. The glory of God was initially revealed during a celebration! This was not a set of rules, but festival joy! Yet this was a forerunner of another wedding feast. The Lord has a table set for his children, the Bride of Christ and His Son. The wine that we have is nothing compared to the wine that He serves. God is inviting us to taste and see that He is good!
