My University of Phoenix correspondence course in meteorology is going really well!  This past week we studied thermometers, u-tube manometers, barometers, hygrometers, anemometers and pitot tubes.  I'm sure learning a lot!  One of these days, I'm gonna be a great weatherman like Dave Murray!

The autumn weather pattern will be moving into the local area this weekend .....

Today: Cloudy and damp with rain this morning...then becoming mostly sunny by afternoon. High around 75F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Tonight: Mainly clear skies. Low near 50F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Mainly sunny. High 74F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow night: Cloudy with occasional rain showers. Low 51F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Sunday: A few thunderstorms possible. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the mid 40s.

  1. LOTS OF RAIN THIS YEAR???
I am somewhat new to the Hermann area. I have only lived here for 5 years.
I was wondering if the fact that the River is in Flood stage this late into the summer season a bit odd?????
Isn't the river usually running low this time of year???

    Just curious.

  2. Thanks for commenting, Curious!

Yes, you're right! This has been an unusually wet year! In most years, the river stage is at normal stage or even below in September. Damp conditions in the river bottom are preventing farmers from harvesting their crops. We don't need any pecipitation for awhile, but it looks like we're going to get more this weekend!

    Frank,

I hope they teach you to wear a coat and tie and present the weather forecast in front of a weather map! You do have a coat and tie, don't you, Frank?
