Citizens interested in the vote recount case "Larry Miskel v. Ronald Jost" will want to attend tomorrow's hearing which is set to be heard by 20th Circuit Presiding Judge The Honorable Gael D. Wood. The case will be heard at 3:00 p.m. in the second floor courtroom at the Gasconade County Courthouse in Hermann, Missouri. Attorney of record for the appellant Larry Miskel is P. Dennis Barks of Hermann. Attorney of record for the respondent Ron Jost is Brett J. Hellmann of Jefferson City.
Yours truly will be in attendance, and I will file a report on the courtroom proceedings Friday evening.
A question I have is why would Ron Jost, who ostensibly won the Republican primary election for Presiding Commissioner of Gasconade County, now stand in the way of the recount being requested by Larry Miskel? Wouldn't a reasonable and honorable man want to know for sure that he had won the majority of the votes fair and square and without any lingering questions left in the minds of the voters? I plan to ask that question of Mr. Jost tomorrow afternoon.
