Hermann Hearsay is announcing our endorsement of Jerry Spurgeon (D) for Presiding Commissioner of Gasconade County. Earlier this year, we had endorsed Larry Miskel (R) in the Republican primary, but Miskel was narrowly defeated (16 votes) by incumbent Ron Jost (R).
It is essential that we have new leaders for Gasconade County. Replacing incumbents Jost (Presiding Commissioner) and Lietzow (County Clerk) will represent a good beginning toward that end.
Hermann Hearsay endorsed Sharon Meyer (D) for County Clerk several months ago. The County Clerk is the "chief financial officer" in the county. From the looks of Gasconade County's 2010 state audit reports, we desperately need a new County Clerk!
I'm sure your endorsements have nothing to do with what letter is associated with their name. Only D's right?

ReplyDeleteAll of us here at Hermann Hearsay are to the right of Rush Limbaugh! One member of our staff spent 36 years in Cape Girardeau. He knows the Limbaugh family well!
You may have missed the point I made about endorsing Hermann Mayor Larry Miskel (R) during the primary election. Above all else, we support people who are competent, accountable, professional and honest. Jost and Lietzow don't meet our high standards for endorsement. We'll take honest, hardworkng, accountable and competent Democrats over arrogant, incompetent, do-nothing Republicans any time!
