Having a great time down here in Branson! Branson has grown a lot since I last visited in 1995.
Great Ozark Mountain scenery, great entertainment, great food, great timeshare condo accomodations! I could actually see myself retiring down here. It'll be either here in Branson or in Columbia.
Matt Penning advised we checkout Landry's Seafood Restaurant on the strip (Hwy. 76). We've been there twice already and will probably hit it a third time before we leave Branson! Good recommendation, Matt! We also found a great Italian restaurant on Green Mountain Drive in Branson ..... Florentina's Italian Restaurant. I absolutely love it! We'll probably visit it one more time before returning to Hermann.
I'm really enjoying the live entertainment in Branson! All shows are reasonably priced, and so far we've been fortunate to have had great seating! Two shows in the first row, center stage. Two shows in the second row, center stage. And one show in the seventh row, center stage. So far we've seen 'Always, Patsy Cline' (A great Patsy Cline impersonator sings Patsy's hit songs and tells her life story. Lisa Layne sounds EXACTLY like and has all the mannerisms of country singing legend Patsy Cline.), 'Legends in Concert' (Great impersonations of the Blues Brothers, Little Richard, Alan Jackson, Britney Spears and Elvis Presley.), 'Bill Medley In Concert' with daughter McKenna Medley (Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers is still going strong at age 69!), 'John Denver Tribute' (James Garrett and his band do a fantastic job with John Denver's music as they relate interesting stories of John Denver's life.), and the 'Brett Family' (A very talented musical family! I missed them when they appeared in Hermann, so I wanted to see them in Branson.)
Tonight we're headed out to see 'NOAH The Musical', a Bible story brought to life on the largest stage in Branson, a wrap-around stage over 300 feet wide. Thursday night we have tickets for an Elvis show. 'Eras Of The King', at the Owens Theatre in Downtown Branson. And on Friday night, we'll be seeing the 'Liverpool Legends' (A Beatles concert which we have been told is super!)
Life is good in Branson, Missouri! If, like me, you haven't been to Branson in a number of years, make plans to visit again. If you've never been to Branson, put it on your 'Bucket List'.
Now, if you're not really "into" the live entertainment in Branson, there is great sport fishing and recreational boating on the surrounding lakes: Lake Tanneycomo, Table Rock Lake and Bull Shoals. Years ago, when I had my bass boat, I fished all three lakes. Beautiful mountain surroundings! And I occasionally even caught a fish! There are also some great golf courses, and from what I've observed, they don't seem to be "over-played". I'm sure you'll be able to schedule tee-times!
Gotta run now! Just wanted to take a few moments from my vacation time to tell you about the sparkling jewel of southwest Missouri which is Branson!
