Hermann Hearsay learned earlier this evening that two candidates for county-wide offices filed in the final hour of the open election filing period which ended at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, March 30.
Sharon Meyer will be running for County Clerk and filed as a Democrat. She will run unopposed in the August primary election and then face incumbent Lesa Lietzow in the November general election.
Larry Miskel, Hermann's current mayor, will be running for Presiding Commissioner and filed as a Republican. He will run against incumbent Ron Jost in the August primary.
Hemann Hearsay applauds Meyer and Miskel for stepping forth to challenge the entrenched incumbents.

Congrats to Sharon Meyer and Larry Miskel! Both good candidates for these two offices. Where do I send my campaign donations?

No challenger running for County Collector? Maybe someone will still run as an Independent?

Clark,
ReplyDeleteI'll be voting for Sharon Meyer and Larry Miskel. I urge others to vote for change and good government by voting for them as well!

Clark,
ReplyDeleteThe talk down in the taverns last night was pretty lively! A lot of the guys were disappointed that we don't have a choice for County Collector. The word, however, is that someone may still file as an Independent. No name was mentioned as the person who is considering a run doesn't want to tip their hand just yet. Seems like all the challengers are playing the game pretty carefully!

I'll be campaigning for Ron and Lesa.
ReplyDeleteI'll be campaigning for the incumbents!

Clark,
ReplyDeleteWhat's the filing period for Independents? And what does the County Collector job pay?
